Music from a Brazilian superstar precedes a documentary. Presented in association with CineFest Brasil.

Out Of Tune is about a group of friends who come of age during the political turmoil that plagued South America in the 1960's and 70's. Together, these musicians form a band - Os Desafinados - and become a part of the groundbreaking Brazilian musical movement (called Bossa Nova) that launched the careers of such music greats as Tom Jobim and João Gilberto.

The daughter of Brazilian musical legends César Camargo Mariano and Elis Regina, Maria Rita has developed her own jazzy vocal style modeled on such classic singers as Ella Fitzgerald. Her first album Maria Rita went platinum in 2003 and made her an international star in her own right.
